Course Description:
This course equips agricultural extension officers and agripreneurs with the knowledge and tools to integrate climate risk management into extension services and farming practices. Participants will explore the impacts of climate variability and change on agriculture in Kenya, and learn to apply climate-smart agriculture (CSA) principles, agro-weather forecasting, seasonal planning, and risk mitigation strategies. The course covers the use of digital climate advisory services (DCAS), early warning systems, and participatory planning tools that help farmers make informed decisions. Special focus is given to building resilience at the farm and community level, aligning with national climate strategies and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
